A MUSIC COMPANY Ltd.

The company first started trading in December 1996. It was set up as a label to handle compilations, with the first release “Furry Logic” released through Pinnacle in the UK and PIAS in Europe in 1997. The album featured tracks from Larry Heard, Filia Brazilia, José Padilla, Nitin Sawhney and A Guy Called Gerald…

Since then, its primary function has been its consultancy services, mainly concentrated on marketing activities in the music business. 2002 saw the creation of a new charity project SOS PLANET EARTH, to coincide with the World Summit in Johannesburg and in 2004 the X-TREME TRAX DVD series was created.

Russ CURRY (Managing Director)

After an “apprenticeship” at Polydor International in Hamburg (European campaigns on Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Rory Gallagher, The Bee Gees, Olivia Newton-John and, err… The James Last Band) and at Phonogram London (Status Quo, Thin Lizzy, 10 CC, Graham Parker, Dire Straits, Rush) he moved to Paris and became Vice President of European Operations for A & M RECORDS running the “Breakfast in America” campaign with Supertramp (3 m. units) and helped launch the careers of The Police, Joe Jackson, Bryan Adams, Janet Jackson, Chris de Burgh, Suzanne Vega & Sting in Europe.

After the sale of A&M to Polygram, he helped set up an independent distribution company in France, Clemusic distributing over 30 labels including Ninja Tune, Cooking Vinyl and Cherry Red. He managed the reformed legendary French rock band, Trust and negotiated the deal with Warner leading to sold out tours and a Gold Album. He was also involved with the “Earthrise” Album, the official album of the Earth Summit in Rio in 1992

After Clemusic, he worked for PLAY IT AGAIN SAM - Brussels – as International Manager where he re-enforced their network in Europe, set up the PIAS company in Spain and coordinated European campaigns for The Propellerheads, Soulwax, Laurent Garnier, Garbage, Muse, Nitin Sawhney and The Freestylers, and worked with third party labels such as Mushroom, F.Com, Wall of Sound, Fresh/Freskanova, and Outcaste.

In January 2002, he moved back to Paris full time to concentrate on the consultancy business.
